Hacettepe University, Department of American Culture and Literature, Undergraduate Student Panel 2023 will be held on 31 May 2023, Wednesday, 10:00 online at Google Meet.
This year, the topic of the Undergraduate Student Panel is Science Fiction. As Ursula K. Le Guin observed, "Science fiction is not predictive; it is descriptive. Predictions are uttered by prophets (free of charge), by clairvoyants (who usually charge a fee, and are therefore more honored in their day than prophets), and by futurologists (salaried)." The seven undergraduate panelists from our department will make presentations, each analyzing science fiction works from different perspectives. The presentations will be 10-12 minutes each, to be followed by a Q&A session at the end of the panel.
